Coffee prices today January 18, 2021: The price of Robusta coffee in London delivered in March 2021 increased by 21 USD / ton (1.58%).

Ending the latest session, the price of Robusta coffee in London delivered in March 2021 increased by 21 USD / ton (1.58%), traded at 1,353 USD / ton, delivered in May 2021 increased by 21 USD / ton. (1.56%), trading at 1,363 USD / ton. At the exchange of New York in the US, Arabica coffee prices delivered in March 2021 increased 0.8 cent / lb (0.63%) at 128.15 cents / lb, delivered in May 2021 increased 0.85 cents / lb. (0.66%) at 130.25 cents / lb.

According to observers, the predicted decrease in Arabica output in Brazil, plus the decline in the Reais exchange rate, made the two-exchange coffee prices regain their momentum compared to a long period of decline in early 2021.

The world coffee export market is forecast to improve in 2021. World coffee inventories have fallen to the lowest level in many years, which is said to be a positive signal of the export market. The complex evolution of the Covid-19 epidemic, with high levels of social distancing, continued to intensify, will lead to higher demand for coffee at home. This is a Robusta coffee opportunity.

Besides, coffee is also considered to increase the value of exports to the EU market in the near future when the tax rate is reduced from 15% to 0%. The EU is currently the market that consumes the most coffee in Vietnam, accounting for 40% of the total volume and 38% of the total export value of the country (average coffee export value to the EU is 1.2-1.4 billion $ / year for the past 5 years).

In Cu M’gar district (Dak Lak), the price of coffee today is 32,200 VND / kg. In Ea H’leo district (Dak Lak), Buon Ho (Dak Lak), today coffee prices are purchased at the same level of 32,100 VND / kg.

Similarly in Dak Nong province, today’s coffee prices purchased at 32,100 VND / kg in Gia Nghia and 32,000 VND / kg in Dak R’lap.

In Gia Lai province, today’s coffee price is 32,100 VND / kg (Chu Prong), in Pleiku and La Grai the same price is 32,200 VND / kg. Today, coffee prices in Kon Tum province are purchased at 32,100 VND / kg. Thus, coffee prices today remain unchanged compared to the end of last week.
