Coffee prices today 9/11: Keep stable compared to the end of the week

Coffee prices today 9/11 went sideways compared to last week. According to forecasts, among the largest coffee-producing countries, Brazil will record a record 69 million bags in the 2020-2021 season, while Vietnam will reach 29.2 million bags.

At the end of last week’s trading session, Robusta coffee price in London increased by 11 USD / ton (0.83%) for delivery in November 2020, traded at 1,330 USD / ton, delivered in March 2021 increased by 13 USD at 1,363. Meanwhile, in the exchange of New York in the US, the price of Arabica coffee delivered in December 2020 increased 1 cent/lb (0.94%) at 106.95 cents/lb, delivered in March 2021 increased 1 cent/lb. (0.92%) to 109.45 cents/lb.

The latest World Coffee Organization periodical report shows that in the 2019-2020 crop year, global coffee exports decreased by 4.9% to 126.9 million bags compared to the crop year 2018 – 2019. Period October 2019 – September 2020, Robusta coffee exports recorded the smallest decrease, down 1.4% to 48.68 million bags.

The main reason for the decrease is due to the disruption of the world coffee supply chain. The agency also warns that the coffee surplus from 2020-2021 is unavoidable, as major consuming countries implement social gaps and ban coffee shops.

Meanwhile, traders and analysts surveyed by Reuters all forecast Robusta consumption to increase thanks to higher sales at supermarkets as more people have to work from home because of the pandemic. Retailers often produce finished coffee with higher Robusta content.

Besides, instant coffee is also produced mainly with Robusta coffee. Demand for Robusta coffee is forecast to exceed supply by 1 million bags in the crop year 2020-2021, while Arabica coffee is an oversupply of 5.9 million bags. Among the largest coffee-producing countries, Brazil is forecast to have a record 69 million bags harvest in the 2020-2021 season, while Vietnam is expected to produce 29.2 million bags.

Specifically, in Di Linh district (Lam Dong), today’s coffee price was purchased at 32,800 VND / kg. In Bao Loc district (Lam Dong), Lam Ha (Lam Dong), the price of coffee was at 32,800 VND / kg.

In Cu M’gar district (Dak Lak), the price of coffee is 33,300 VND / kg. In Ea H’leo district (Dak Lak), Buon Ho (Dak Lak), coffee prices were purchased at the same level of 33,300 VND / kg.

Similarly in Dak Nong province, the price of coffee purchased is 33,300 VND / kg in Gia Nghia and Dak R’lap). In Gia Lai province, coffee prices are at 33,300 VND / kg (Chu Prong), in Pleiku and La Grai the same price is 33,200 VND / kg. Coffee prices in Kon Tum province are purchased at VND33,000 / kg.

Thus, the price of coffee in the country this morning went sideways and remained stable compared to the previous session. The sum of last week showed that the coffee price increased by an average of 300 – 400 VND / kg in key growing areas
